Comments

Utilizing Hiroshige's "Shono: Driving Rain" (from the series Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido Road) the multi-step process of creating a Japanese woodblock print is depicted. On facing pages the individually printed colors or lines are shown opposite the evolving full image. Single page of explanatory text in English at front. OCLC/Worldcat suggests the publication date of 1940.
