Nirenstein's real estate atlases provide an interesting snapshot of the state of urban developement in the mid 20th century. The retail centers of 23 cities are mapped, photographed, and analyzed (Philadelphia in 2 parts). The publisher's price in 1950 was $200, a significant expense and no doubt a contributing factor to the scarcity of these volumes today.
