"The Rose Cross" (i.e., Rosicrucian) was an occult society founded in San Francisco about 1860 by Paschal Beverly Randolph. Leadership of the Rosicrucian Fellowship later fell to Reuben Swinburne Clymer who subsequently moved the secret society's headquarters to Quakertown, PA.
