First printing of Charmian's second book (after "Log of the Snark"). This copy inscribed and signed by the author to the Londons' close friend Johannes Reimers: "Dear Johannes: Here it is, at last - the rest of the tale of our Golden Trail through the Purple Seas, and amongst the Blessed Isles and their Love People, whom you and our dear lost Jack loved so well. Charmian, New York City, February 15, 1918." Johannes Reimers was a Norwegian-American writer and artist who first met Jack at a 1902 birthday party given for Jack by Anna Strunsky. See Charmian London's "The Book of Jack London" volume 1, page 368 for a detailed account of this first meeting. Reimers much later designed the landscaping surrounding the Londons' doomed Wolf House.
