BOTH VOLUMES INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY AUTHOR: "To 'Harry' Fish: Wish you could have known the man, and not only his humble biographer. Charmian London. Glen Ellen, California, 1935." (and) "Dear 'Harry' Fish, The first volume is preparation for this art of Jack's life, of course. And it treats of a place and of persons you know. I hope you won't be disappointed. Yours Sincerely, Charmian London. Jack London Ranch, in the 'Valley of the Moon,' 1935." Laid in to first volume is a postcard sent by Harry Fish to Charmian London in Glen Ellen and postmarked Jul. 10. 1935, Rio Nido (California), suggesting a date for a visit.
