Rare first edition of the first history of Bass & Co. brewers. "A Glass of Pale Ale: Mssrs. Bass, Ratcliff, & Gretton, Limited, of Burton-upon-Trent, Their Business and Breweries" was originally published in 1874 in "Everybody's Year-Book," and has been revised and updated for the present edition. "Visit to Burton" is reprinted from the "Daily News," Oct. 22, 1872. OCLC locates only 1 copy of the first edition (National Library of Scotland) and 1 copy of the 1884 second edition (Shields Library, UC Davis)
