Inscribed and signed by the author on front free endpaper: "To our dear friends Albert and Riette and (read it first) the boys. Affectionately Sally and Rockwell. Albert and Riette Kahn were longtime friends of the Kents. Albert Kahn was a fellow Socialist, activist and writer. He co-authored Pabla Casals memoir "Joys and Sorrows." Rockwell Kent's private diary and sketchbook from his 14-month sojourn in Greenland from July, 1931 to September, 1932. His novel "Salamina" was based on this experience.
