Original half white vellum and gilt red silk over boards, octavos (5.5 x 8.75 inches), illustrated with photogravure plates, facsimiles. Silk quite rubbed at edges and corners with boards exposed, vellum spines quite clean and unworn, some foxing, some inner hinges starting. Good. Item #15678
Card autographed by Oliver Wendell Holmes and dated Boston, Dec. 26th 1889 mounted to front pastedown. BAL 9214 (exc. Life & Letters). Though the delicate red silk has deteriorated somewhat the gilt vellum spines are unblemished and the set looks very attractive on the shelf.
