The introduction to this edition asserts that only 2 copies of the original edition remain extant. This copy inscribed on front blank leaf: "B'r. General H. (?) Lovett, 9 Nov., 1918." A notable date, being the day the Kaiser Wilhelm abdicated and 2 days before Armistice was declared.
