n.p. n.p., 1922. 8 leaves (complete), 10.5 x 8 inches, unlined paper, written in pencil on rectos, versos contain pages from the typescript of Coppard's short story "The Jewel of Jeopardy" (incomplete). In maroon cloth folder. Moderate fraying to edges of leaves. Item #22994
The pencil draft of "Luxury" shows quite a bit of editing to the text, including a first title "Fine Ripe Bananas" lined out at top of first page. Luxury was published in Coppard's third book "The Black Dog and Other Stories" in 1923; "Jewel of Jeopardy" appeared in 1925 in "The Fishmonger's Fiddle." From the library of John K. Martin (of Black Sparrow Press) with his small exlibris label to inside of folder.
