The "Model Book of Calligraphy" written in 1561-61 by Georg Bocskay for Emperor Ferdinand Hapsburg I and illuminated by Joris Hoefnagel 30 years later was acquired by the Getty Museum in 1986. The unique combination of calligraphy and illustration presented in the work has made it one of the museum's most popular exhibits. Text includes reproduction in full-color facsimile of all 151 tableaux (including several double-page) each with facing caption page, as well as a scholarly study of the work and its creators.
