Apparently an expanded reprint of John Boydell's 1775 "Passion" which was comprised of 20 pages of text and 35 engravings. The present copy omits the text and adds 17 engravings: 14 at the beginning signed in the plate by T. Mills and 3 at the end signed Isaac Taylor. John Boydell is best remembered for his "Boydell Shakespeare Gallery" which brought together the efforts of the best artists and engravers of the day in a magnificent illustrated edition of the works of William Shakespeare. Boydell's nephew and partner, Josiah Boydell (1752-1815), who contributed several paintings to the Shakespeare Gallery, continued the publishing business after his uncle's death and it is likely that the present volume was produced by him. Rare; OCLC/Worlcat locates only 1 copy.
