Originally published in 1939, "The World is Round" was Gertrude Stein's only children's book. The illustrations by Clement T. Hurd, created for the 1939 first edition were adapted by Clement Hurd and Andrew Hoyem for the Arion Press edition. Edith Thacher Hurd's companion volume is a memoir detailing the history of the creation of the original edition, together with correspondence between Stein and Hurd. Edition of 400 copies.
