While lectures are not given individual titles, H. Collison's introduction identifies the subject more specifically as giving "an historical summary or sketch of the evolution of the Mysteries from East to West, from the days of ancient Persia, through Egypt and Greece, until the Christian Era and the Present day." The first two lectures being a general treatment of the subject, while the third focuses on the Egyptian Initiation and the fourth looks "minutely into the modern initiation of the Holy Grail with a description of Parsifal and Amfortas" also making reference to Steiner's Fourth Mystery Play, "The Sun at Midnight."
