Welcome to the website of Chanticleer Books.

We've had an open bookshop in the town of Sonoma for a total of 17 years, including 9 years at our East Napa St. location. However, as of April 13, 2013 we will close our doors. Subsequently, our business will be conducted online at www.chanticleerbooks.com; www.abaa.org/; and abebooks. We will also be available by appointment, and at the approximately 8 antiquarian bookfairs at which we exhitbit annually. Our areas of interest remain the same, including California History, Western Americana, Jack London, Food & Wine, general antiquarian books, et al, and we look forward to continuing our bookselling career in this new fashion. Chanticleer Books is owned and operated by Steve Blackmer, a full-time bookseller since 1985 and member of the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America (ABAA) since 1998.
